Targeting fine lines and wrinkles, Botox Cosmetic® treatments are one of the most effective ways to look younger and reduce the lines that are a sign of aging. Botox is especially useful in the upper face for forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet. However, treatments can also be useful in the lower face to reduce a gummy smile, decrease bunny nose lines, raise downturned corners of the mouth that make one look sad or unhappy, and the prominent platysma neck bands that can contribute to jowls.
Dr Krushel can also provide Dysport® and Xeomin® neuromodulators upon request, he encourages the use of the Botox Cosmetic® brand, because of the reliable and well know results of this product, while his clients enjoy participating in the generous Botox Brilliant Distinctions reward program.
Here are some commonly asked questions, to help prepare you for your treatment:
- Does it hurt? Botox is administered by injecting facial muscles using very small needles. Some northerners say the needle poke feels like a little mosquito bite, but without the itching and swelling
- I am interested, but I don’t want to look “frozen” Dr. Krushel reduces wrinkles and fine lines while leaving natural expressions intact, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance. Botox does not increase the volume of the face and does not cause plumping or filling effects.
- How long does Botox last? Typically, 3 to 4 months. However, this depends very much on one’s metabolism and the strength and activity of one’s muscles.
- What is the cost? Dr. Krushel prides himself on placing every unit of Botox in the most effective locations, to ensure that clients get the desired effect in the most cost-effective way. Sessions typically range from 15 – 60 units, dependent on number of areas you are looking to have treated.

What is your experience?
Dr. Krushel has been utilizing Botox Cosmetic® and dermal fillers full time in his practice for 5 years, with thousands of satisfied patients at multiple Medical Clinic and MedSpa locations in British Columbia, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories. He prides himself on thoroughly listening to the client’s goals and using a mirror to educate and explain to patients how best to meet these goals in the most cost-effective way during a friendly no-pressure consultation.
Dermal Fillers: Dr. Krushel also administers Hyaluronic Acid (HLA) Dermal Fillers, a naturally occurring chemical in the body and skin that is renowned for its ability to absorb water, providing hydration and volume to the skin.
As we age, the youthful lift provided by our cheek bones and natural upper face fat pads can diminish and slide to the lower face, leading to a drooping or sagging appearance in the cheeks and jowls. This aging process can also contribute deep lines and grooves in the lower face (such as deep nasolabial folds, smile lines, and marionette lines). Small amounts of appropriately specific types of Dermal Filler can enhance our appearance by providing lift while restoring lost volume. Dermal Fillers are commonly used to volumize and rejuvenate such areas as the cheeks and temples to provide lift and support, providing a more youthful and rested appearance. They provide a natural appearing lip enhancement that can last for up to a year. They are commonly administered to soften the sunken areas such as the tear troughs, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. They are commonly used in the jawline and chin. Some softer dermal fillers are used more superficially to treat perioral, smile lines, and smoker’s lines. Juvaderm’s SkinVive® and Skinboosters® are types of dermal fillers that can be injected just below the surface of the skin to improve skin smoothness and provide a rejuvenated appearance.
Here are some commonly asked questions, to help prepare you for your consultation or treatment:
How long do dermal fillers last?
Much of the volume effect of dermal fillers is immediately apparent after injection. Your body will naturally absorb dermal fillers over time. Depending upon the type and amount of filler used in a location; an excellent treatment effect usually lasts from 6 to 24 months.
- Are dermal fillers expensive?
The cost of dermal fillers depends upon several factors including the area or areas administered, and the amount required. Usually, one treatment is all that is required. Dr. Krushel will not recommend any filler in excess to what you require to meet your goals and/or that will look excessive or unnatural. He will always be open and honest as to what dermal fillers can and cannot achieve.
- Do Dermal Fillers hurt?
Dermal Fillers are administered using small needles or cannula through the skin and into the desired treatment area. Dr Krushel takes a number of measures to ensure that the procedure is as pleasant as possible, including applying anesthetic to the skin prior to the procedure. Most dermal fillers also contain a local anesthetic, such that the
procedure is usually described as only mildly painful or uncomfortable.
